Simple Skincare Brand Overview Part 1

This post maybe too late but I still want to review these Simple products. Having a sensitive skin is not a walk in the park so I'm constantly on the hunt for good skincare brands. The Simple brand, originated from the UK, caters for those who have sensitive skin. Their philosophy has always been about being kind to skin.

As you can see, the title says part 1 because I only reviewed 3 Simple products. The moisturizer and the micellar water weren't available at the time I bought these. Too bad since I really wanted to try their moisturizer. I will post part 2 once the products are available. So, let's get started.

1. Simple Micellar Cleansing Wipes

  • Simple Micellar Cleansing Wipes combining gentle and effective cleansing in one convenient product. These face wipes are made with our clever cleansing bubbles called Micelles which are smart enough to gently lift make-up and impurities out, including waterproof mascara,  and unclog pores while instantly hydrating skin with just one wipe. Made with skin-loving ingredients, multi-vitamins and triple purified water Simple Micellar Wipes leave your skin feeling  fresh and hydrated, perfect when you’re on-the-go (product description from the website)

  • my skin/hair type: acne-prone, combination and sensitive skin

  • thoughts:
I've been avoiding cleansing wipes because I hate that it contains alcohol (which holds the ingredients) and it doesn't clean the face completely. Clearly, I'm not a fan.
As mentioned earlier, the micellar water wasn't available so I had to get this. My first thought was the ingredients are properly saturated by the tissues/wipes.
These are not dry nor too wet. It says that these are alcohol-free but it smells a bit like it to me. This will take off a layer of makeup or dirt on the skin. Take note that you need to follow it up with proper cleansing to remove dirt in its entirety.
My skin didn't hate this but I remember that there was a cold or tingling sensation on the sides of my nose on day 1-2 of using this. Fortunately, this didn't dry me out.
I assume that the wipes' formula is the same as the micellar water. If that's the case, then this isn't bad. But is it comparable to my HG Bioderma micellar water? No. Bioderma cleans your skin twice than Simple. It's gentler too.
Having said that, this is cheaper than Bioderma and does its' job too without breaking me out so I'm not mad.
  • will I continue using this product? Yes. Only for flights or festivals. I still prefer a micellar water poured onto a cotton round
  • will i re-purchase this product? possible
  • will i recommend this product? I won't recommend cleansing wipes but if you really need a good and cheap cleansing wipes badly, then yes I'll recommend this.

2. Simple Kind To Skin Soothing Shower Cream

  • directions from the website: Squeeze onto a sponge or your hands. Gently massage over your skin to form a rich lather. Rinse thoroughly. Avoid contact with eyes.
  • my skin/hair type: body- dry
  • thoughts
This smells herbal and minty. It is like a thinner and runny version of condensed milk.

This claimed to nurture and moisturize the skin. Though this didn't upset my skin, the product wasn't moisturizing. It didn't dry me out intensely but this needs to be followed up by a body lotion. Honestly, I really didn't see any difference.
This is good for cleansing. It will take off the dirt of your skin. But any other cheaper drugstore brands will do that job too. There's nothing special with this product to be frank.
For the application, they said to use your hands or squeeze onto a sponge. I used both and the only difference I saw is that I was using too much product when I applied it with my hands. I suggest you just use a sponge. You'll save more product that way and it will be easier to lather this onto your skin.
These are the bath tools I use:

I use the wooden brush for dry brushing before I take a shower
I use the sponge with the shower cream.

  • will I continue using this product? Yes until I finish it
  • will I re-purchase this product? No
  • will I recommend this product? No

  • directions from the website: Shake well to mix the two-part formula; Apply couple of drops to a cotton pad; Gently cleanse the eye area from the inner corner to the outer side of the eye, no harsh rubbing or rinsing required
  • my skin/hair type: acne-prone, combination and sensitive skin
  • thoughts:
Among the 3 Simple products, this is by far my favorite. This is part water and part oil. You'll see that the 2-part formulae are separated in the bottle that's why you need to shake it. Once combined, the consistency is lightweight oil. I say lightweight because this isn't your typical oil that is tacky or too greasy. It resembles silk a bit. It's probably the water that makes the oil light. This eye makeup remover is fragrance-free.

I hope you can see how the 2-part formula are separated

 after shaking

combined formula

This didn't irritate my eyes. It's really gentle. I pour a generous amount on a cotton round and hold it over my eyes for a bit. I'm kind of soaking my eyes with it and that's how I've been taking off my eye make-up ever since to break it down. Then I'll wipe it away. No need to rub or tug. It doesn't give me a blurry vision either. This is really good and affordable.
